Lord Edward Wheyland, Jr. – a 76 year-old native and resident of Mobile passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010. He retired from the Mobile County Public School System after many years of service, was a Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force, and attended Parkway Baptist Church where he played the piano. Mr. Wheyland was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Houston Wheyland. He is survived by two children, Buddy Wheyland and Carol Ann Wheyland; sister, Nancy Helton; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
