Mable Clarice Antoine Lloyd

Mable Clarice Antoine Lloyd – age 87, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020. She was born June 9, 1932 in Mobile, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence A. Antoine and her mother, Edna Mae Morgan; her husband, Sanford Leon Lloyd; two sons Michael Sanford Lloyd and John Louis Lloyd; her sister, Eula Mae Antoine Jacobs (David Thomas Jacobs) and brother, Clarence Robert (Buddy) Antoine.

Mable graduated from Murphy High School in 1949 and was married that same year to Sanford on December 24, 1949.

Not only was Mable a loving mother to seven children, her homemaking skills could not be matched as she was an excellent cook and baker and a wonderful seamstress.

Mable was a member of March Against Crime/Right of Initiative and Referendum with Lillian Jackson. As a faithful member of Our Savior Parish, she served St. Vincent de Paul Society and served on the Justice and Peace Committee.

Mable is survived by her children: Deborah Antonia Lloyd Starley (Albert), Anna Lloyd Butler (Carl), Mark Leon Lloyd, Teresa Marion Lloyd-Brignac (Keith) and Peter Angelo Lloyd. She leaves four grandchildren Amanda L. Cross (Kyle), Matthew Lloyd Butler (Emily), Zachary Lloyd (Courtney), and Ian Michael Lloyd; three great-grandchildren Cooper Sanford Lloyd, Tatum Ann Lloyd and Alissa Leigh Johnson. She is also survived by one sister, Martha Yvonne Antoine Dees (Tom) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation for Mable will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday, March 19, 202, at 10 a.m. at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, 8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, Alabama 36613.

Pallbearers will be Clark Bonnell, Ian Michael Lloyd, Paul Antoine, Matthew Lloyd Butler, Murphy Lloyd Crotwell, Wayne Anderson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Sellew, Zachary Lloyd, Caroll Wilson Butler.
