Mamie George Shires

Mamie George Garrett Shires, departed her loving family on August 25th 2023. She was 90 years old. Mamie was born in Monroe County Alabama (Pine Orchard) December 6th 1932 to John Dudley Garrett and Sitymae Raines Garrett.

Mamie is survived by her loving husband of 72 years George Wilton Shires; 3 daughters, Debbie Praytor, Sheiliah (Larry) Helton and Darla (David) Lindsey; 6 grandchildren, Marty (Sienna) Daniels, Justin (Faith) Helton, Brandon (Amber) Helton, Chris Lindsey, Bradeley (Amy) Lindsey, Ryan (Cristy) Lindsey, and Dawn Lindsey; 12 great grandchildren, Hunter, Ryan, Lily Daniels, Kerrigan, Karleigh Helton, Brody, Grayson, Riley Helton, Kaden, Kohen, Nathan, Madison Lindsey; 1 great great granddaughter, Vera Daniels; also, survived by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dudley Garrett and Sitymae Raines Garrett.

There will be a graveside service held on Thursday, August 31st 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery West, 1559 West Snow Road, pallbearers are, Marty Daniels, Justin Helton, Brandon Helton, Larry Helton, David Lindsey, and Ryan Lindsey.
