Margaret H. Arns passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2021 in Mobile, AL. She was born to Louise C. Taylor and Willie Allen Hasty in Excel, AL on September 30, 1921. She was referred to as “Mavi” by her grands and she liked it, thus she became “Mavi” to family and friends.
Margaret attended Montevallo College before moving to Mobile. She worked for Jack Cole Transport 30 plus years as office manager. She was a member of the La Luna Cervantes, Secretary for Buccanettes, women’s participation in the Buccaneer Yacht Club. Together Margaret and husband, Joe Arns were great supporters of the Youth Sailing programs at Buccaneer Yacht Club.
After retirement Margaret began cross-stitching, sewing, even quilting and more beautiful needle work projects. She truly enjoyed her large yards, special flowers and especially riding her lawnmower.
Margaret loved family and others who felt her sincerity. She was generous to several charities including their church, longtime members of Our Lady of Lourdes. She had an ironclad, strong will regardless of several cancers and other injuries she maintained her positive attitude. All who knew or met Margaret will have so many memories of her kindness and her laughter.
