

Mrs. Vance, was known as Mother, Grandmother, Maw Maw Maret, Granny Vance, and affectionately referred to as Sweetie by her husband Clint. She enjoyed playing pranks on everyone leaving behind many fond memories with her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by us all.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert D. Turner; parents, Sam and Pearl Cross; two sisters, Jean Able and Bruneeze Crutchfield; and two brothers, Marvin Johnson and Cecil Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Clinton M. Vance; sister, Ouida Nelson (W. L.); five sons, Paul R. Turner (Vicki), Charles R. Turner, James M. Broadus, Jr. (Charlene), Walter L. Turner, Gary A. Broadus; two daughters, Susie McCord, Lisa T. Hamblin (Todd); brother-in-law, "Paw Paw" Dewey Crutchfield; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends which she loved and enjoyed.
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Vance will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Oak Park Church of God in Mobile where she was a faithful member. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, September 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are J. R.
