

Marion “Betty” Knowles Worrell – loving mother and grandmother, an 88 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013. Mrs. Worrell volunteered with the USO during World War II and was employed with Smith’s Bakery for many years. She was a longtime member of Little Flower Catholic Church. Mrs. Worrell was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack Cecil Worrell, Sr., and sons, David Glenn Worrell and Stephen Anthony Worrell. She is survived by four children, Jack C. Worrell, Jr. (Martha), Betty Worrell Smith (Donald), Michael J. Worrell (Susan), and Pamela Worrell Harper (James); siblings, Alma Mae Clements, Herman Clements (Diane), and Eva Dugat; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Catholic Church on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, February 13, from 5-8 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Little Flower Catholic Church Building Fund, 2053 Government Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606.
