Mary Catherine Furr, born June 16, 1917, age 95, a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Mobile, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012. She was a member of Community of Christ Church. Mrs. Furr is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John C. Furr. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Cleveland; two grandchildren, Cheryl (Mark) Sloan and Cindy (Blake) Law; two great-grandchildren, Catherine Sloan and Christopher Law; three step-children, Joy Beech, Jean Moseley, and Joan (Edward) Lomax; two sisters, Pauline Chastang and Bernadette Gartman; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 12 Noon. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until 12 Noon on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
