

Mary Christine Gilmore, 95, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who was known for her unwavering love and devotion to her family and faith. A member of Crawford Baptist Church, Christine lived out her beliefs with grace, kindness, and strength.
Christine was born in Union, Mississippi, to Wiley Carl Turner and Bettie V Grafton Turner on December 21, 1929. She attended New Ireland High School, where she was the star of the basketball team and an active member of the 4-H Club. She married Montell Cecil Gilmore on September 21, 1946, in Union, Mississippi. In 1953, they moved to Mobile, Alabama where they continued to raise their five children. Christine dedicated her life to her family, finding deep fulfillment in her role as a lifelong homemaker. She took pride in creating a loving, welcoming home and caring selflessly for those she loved.
Christine Gilmore was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Bettie V Turner; her siblings, Mildred Pledger, Charlie V Dowdle, Tommie Turner, and Carl Turner Jr.; and her beloved husband of 64 years, Montell Cecil Gilmore.
Christine Gilmore is survived by her children, Sherry Gilmore, Danny Gilmore (Beverly), Billy Gilmore (Nola), Randall Gilmore (Jana), and LaTrelle Williams (Ricky); grandchildren, Jeff Gilmore, Chad Williams, Christy Parker, Natasha Smith, Gregg Gilmore, Carla Williams, Ashley Adams, Keith Gilmore, and Kevin Gilmore; 26 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Gilmore, Chad Williams, Gregg Gilmore, Keith Gilmore, Kevin Gilmore, Marco Williams, and Brooks Gibson.
A visitation for Christine will be held Monday, September 15, 2025 from 11 am to 1:00 pm at Crawford Baptist Church, 3000 Sun Valley Dr, Mobile, AL 36618. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Pine Crest West Cemetery, 1599 Snow Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crawford Baptist Church.
