Born in Wilmer on November 6, 1932, Gram was a proud graduate of Semmes High School, Class of 1950.
Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, James E. Fulford, Jr., on October 14, 1950. Together they built a beautiful life and family, raising five children: the late James Edward Fulford III (Debbie), Jeffrey Alan Fulford (Becky), Robert Lee Fulford (T. Rose), Larry Gene Fulford (Annette), and Gary Lamar Fulford (Tammy).
Gram’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren: Jed Fulford, Clint Fulford, Jenny (Fulford) Newton, Carmen (Fulford) Lugo, Katie (Fulford) Turner, Alison “Ali” (Fulford) Collins-Looser, Alyse (Fulford) Vise, Payton Brooke Fulford, Trenton Fulford, Tiffany (Fulford) Hill, Lena Sheffield McMichael, Scott Sheffield, Bonnie Gaudet, Blake Parmer, Joshua Stevens, and Ashley Kimmel. She was also blessed with 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Whether she was tending to her yard and garden, or delighting in feeding the squirrels and birds—often well beyond what was necessary—she lived with a generous spirit and a nurturing heart. She always welcomed everyone with open arms and a warm hug.
Gram’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and faith in Jesus that guided her life. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Graveside service and burial will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
