Mildred Joyce Malcomb

Mildred Joyce Malcomb went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 14, 2025. She was 79 years old. Mildred was born to Alfred Thomas Hitson and Mary Novella Carpenter Hitson on January 16, 1946, in Maryville, Tennessee. Mildred was employed as a secretary at several law offices over the years, one being the local offices of Silver, Voit & Thompson Attorneys in Mobile, Alabama. She previously worked for the United Parcel Service in New Jersey and Orlando, Florida as well. Mildred was an incredibly kind soul who loved her family immensely. She enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader. Mildred loved her pets.

She is very loved and will be greatly missed.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Novella Hitson; grandparents, Rev. George Calvin Hitson and Maude Jane Whitehead Hitson, Edgar Riley Carpenter and Millie Ann Boring Carpenter.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald L. Malcomb of Mobile, AL; their one son, George W. Malcomb (Maurry) of Irvington, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Erma and Steve Rushing of Kingsport, TN; their sons, Mike, Anthony, and Jeff of Kingsport, TN; a brother-in-law, Gregory C. Malcomb of Maryville, TN; as well as other cherished family and friends.

Visitation for Mildred will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery West located at 1599 Snow Road South, Mobile, Alabama 36695.
