Milt was a graduate of St.Mary's, McGill institute and Spring Hill College. Upon graduating from McGill, he had many college scholarship offers because of his outstanding athletic ability. At age 17, with his parents approval, he signed to play professional baseball for the Boston Red Sox. His playing career ended after 7 years due to several injuries. He and his younger brother, Frank, enjoyed a short time together when both played for the Detroit Tigers. He rejoined the Boston Red Sox and his career
with them as a player, Office Executive and Scout spanned 43 years. His abilities led the Red Sox to set up their Latin American scouting program. At retirement, Milt continued his ever active life along with his wife, Joanne, when they became members of VIA Senior Center. Milt taught line dancing, organized a Wednesday poker club, played volleyball, and led other activities, including writing a book about isometrics. His own weekday schedule found him at VIA, exercising, lunching, playing cards, or ping pong. He and his wife were faithful donors to VIA. His current church membership is St. Ignatius and Father Bry Shields. Earlier, his longtime religious affiliation was with St. Pius X, and Father Joseph Jennings. The main St. Pius altar was donated by the Bolling and Weinacker families. Milt and Cas Weinacker held the first jogging event in Mobile. His belief in God's blessings gave him unceasing energy to convince all around him the importance of enjoying their lives. His sense of responsibility was tremendous as he assisted his mother and children in any way possible. A special place in his heart was for his younger and only sister, Carolyn Earnhart. He and brother Frank could swap baseball stories endlessly. Milt was a member of Mobile Sports Hall of Fame, Spring Hill College Hall of Fame and McGill Hall of Fame.
