Muriel Crawford Jones

July 5, 1948 - November 7, 2015 Meriel Crawford Jones, age 67, fell asleep in death Saturday, November 7, 2015. She was born July 5, 1948 to the late Mr. Jesse H. Crawford, Sr. and Mrs. Mamie Crawford and was a graduate of Mobile County Training School's Class of 1966. A resident of Eight Mile, she was employed in the banking industry for over 20 years at AmSouth and Hibernia. Meriel was baptized on June 28, 1962 as a Jehovah's Witness and attended the West Mobile Congregation. Survivors include her mother, Mamie Crawford of Whistler, AL; the love her life, James E. Jones, Sr., of Eight Mile, AL; two sons, James E. (Paulette) Jones, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and Aaron H. (Jalice) Jones of New Orleans, LA; and one daughter, Celeste M. Jones of Eight Mile. She was affectionately known as "MawMaw" and "ShoSho" to her grandchildren, Micheal E. and Dominique S. Jones and Amir A. W. Wachira, all of Mobile. Meriel is also survived by her siblings, Jesse Crawford, Jr., Jonathan Crawford, Elizabeth (Ronald) Watts, Maude (Blakely) Barton, Marian Reff, Gladys (Jerry) Portis , Julius (Corleen) Crawford, Frank Crawford, Philisia Crawford, Phillip Crawford, Rhonda (John) Polanco and Thomas (Jennifer) Crawford, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
