December 17, 1928 - August 2, 2016 Nina Virginia Sizemore Eubanks, age 87, a native of Mobile, was called home by her Maker on August 2, 2016 at her home in Mobile County after a long illness. She passed peacefully in her bed with her loving husband holding her and in the presence of her caring Kindred Hospice nurse Brenda and her long time friend and attendant Marie Emanuel. She was the wife of retired U.S. Army Colonel James M. Eubanks and they recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Prior to their marriage she was a cosmetologist and worked for the Gayfers store when it was open in downtown Mobile. After their marriage she moved to Washington, D.C. where she was active in the Wives' Club of the U.S. Army's Adjutant General's Office and later the Wives' Club at the Army's Training and Doctrine Command. She was a valued mentor to the wives of young officers helping them acclimate to the demands placed on the families of military servicemen. After he retired from the Army she accompanied her husband to Atlanta, Georgia and provided major spousal support for the Corporation where he was employed. After his retirement from that position, they returned to Mobile and built a home in west Mobile County. She was always the central figure in family matters and over the years hosted numerous family reunions for both the Eubanks and the Sizemore families that helped bring all family members closer together. Her influence and loving presence will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She truly enriched every life she touched. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert B. Sizemore; her mother, Vance Wade Sizemore; her son, James Cecil Sanderson Jr. and her brothers, Jack Sizemore, Emmett Sizemore, and Robert Sizemore Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, J.M. Eubanks; 2 children, Martha DeMarco of Salt Lake City, UT; Carol Tice of Amelia Island, Fl. ; 2 step-children, Wayne M. Eubanks of Mobile, Alabama and Patricia A.
