Mr. Norman Eugene Koenig, age 91, native of Mobile, AL, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Judah P. and Edith Anthony Koenig , wife of 30 years, Sarah Hamilton Koenig, and two sisters.
Norman worked for many years with Hamels Department Store in downtown Mobile and retired after 30 years as a groundskeeper with Mobile Infirmary, where he had the opportunity to work alongside his wife Sarah who was a Radiology Therapist Technician. He was a longtime faithful member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church where he spent many hours serving. He was a railroad train modeler enthusiast and was a member of SWARM, Southwest Alabama Railroad Modelers for many years. He was affectionately known as the “Train Man”.
Mr. Koenig is survived by his cousins, George and Carolyn Barrows of Ft. Walton, FL and their family. He will also be missed by his church family and many friends at Dauphin Way Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held at Magnolia Cemetery on Friday, January 20, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m.
