

On August 4, 2014, Opal Easterling Napier, born October 27, 1922, went to be with her Savior and her pre-deceased loving husband of 62 years, James Travis Napier. Opal Napier was born in Ellisville, Mississippi and was preceded in death by her parents George Henry Easterling and Arzona Wade Easterling, brother Dr. H. B. Easterling, and sisters Elsie Shoemake, Dora Lee Grantham and Edith Easterling. Mrs. Napier was a graduate of Jones County Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a teacher for many years in Mobile County and retired from Orchard Elementary School. She served as a past president of Alpha Delta Kappa educational sorority. She was a Sunday School teacher at Moffett Road Baptist Church and Old Spanish Fort Baptist Church, now Faith Family Fellowship in Spanish Fort, AL. Mrs. Napier was a 62 year resident of the Mobile area, having lived in west Mobile, Lake Forest in Daphne, and for the past 16 years at Westminster Village in Spanish Fort. Mrs. Napier is survived by her three children, Larry Napier and wife Dannie, of The Woodlands, TX, Marsha Lee and husband Raymond of Fleming Island, FL, and Linda Prescott and husband Joe of Hendersonville, NC, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all who cared for and filled in the gap when we could not be with Mother. Visitation with the family will be at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at 9:30 A.M. The funeral service, also at Radney, will follow at 11:00 A.M. Thursday with Pastor Joel Faircloth officiating. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
