Pat attended Florida State University, majoring in music and met her soulmate Maurice Whitfield. Prior to attending Florida State University, "Whit" enlisted in the United States Navy. "Whit" and "Pat" married on March 20, 1954. Pat enjoyed a career of nursing as an LPN/CNA. In Pat’s later years she preferred private duty care for homebound Alzheimer’s patients. As relocation of her spouse’s career transitioned her family, she used her talents in music as a private teacher of piano and voice. She was a Christian and served her beloved church as secretary for the music department. Pat was a member of the church choir and performed many solos. Following her love for skin care and beauty, Pat became a director of Mary Kay cosmetics. Perhaps her love for children was her best gift. She opened her home for private day care for babies and toddlers prior to kindergarten age. These beloved children were taught love, music, shapes, reading, counting and more in preparation for kindergarten. Relationships that she developed for these special group of children existed as she passed.
Pat was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church of Mobile, Alabama. A Celebration of life will be held at Radney Funeral Home of Mobile, Alabama on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 11am with visitation from 9am-11am. Interment will be following at Bayview-Fisher-Pou Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
