Patrick Meagher O'Rourke

Mr. Patrick Meagher O’Rourke – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 in a local hospital. Mr. O’Rourke was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He retired from the U. S. Air Force after 20 years of service, was a World War II and Korean War veteran, and was employed by Mobile Infirmary for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maybelle Bentley O’Rourke and Thomas James O’Rourke; and one son, Terry O’Rourke. Survivors include his wife, Darlene O’Rourke; six children, Patrick M. (Linda) O’Rourke, James M. (Patti) O’Rourke, Shawn O’Rourke, Lisa Gilmore, Brian O’Rourke, and Ellyn (Doug) Fowler; one brother, Timothy O’Rourke; sixteen grandchildren, Annie Faye, Michael, Christopher, Patrick, Pamela, Cynthia, Chad, Erin, Kevin, Lauren, Shannon, Theresa, Catherine, Damian, Colin, and Fiona; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, with the Rosary at 7 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1621 Boykin Blvd., Mobile, AL 36605 or to M.D. Anderson Cancer Research, P. O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
