Peggy Obert Simmons

Peggy Simmons, age 69, a native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Grand Bay, AL passed away Monday August 25, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Ms. Simmons was a 1964 graduate of Murphy High School, Southwest Technical School 1970 and was retired from the Mobile County Health Department from 1985 to 2005. She always put her family first and was a very loving mother, granny, sister, aunt and a very good friend.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank F. Obert, Jr.; mother, Cora Mae Wentworth Obert; brother, F. Elmore Obert; and a sister, Dot O. Davis.

Ms. Simmons is survived by a son, Brad Simmons (Deborah) of Grand Bay, AL; a daughter, Kristine Simmons Borchardt of Tomball, TX; grandchildren, B.J Simmons, Miranda Simmons, Devin Simmons, Allison Peters (Larry), Aryn Borchardt; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Frank R. Obert (Marsha) and Ed B. Obert (Barbara); 3 sisters: Paulette O. Merritt (Elie) of Fairhope, AL, Jo Ann O. Bradford (James) of Huntsville, TX, and Evalyn O. Lovell of Birmingham, AL; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home at 3155 Dauphin St. in Mobile at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2014. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Obert, Jerry Obert, Glen Merritt, Justin Bradford, Kenny Cross, and Scooter Simmons. Honorary pallbearers are B.J.
