Peggy Ann White-Spunner

Peggy Ann Barks White-Spunner, age 83, born in Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Allen Barks, Sr. & Margaret Knight Barks, her step-mother, Catherine Lowe Barks, two brothers, Earl Allen "Buster" Barks, Jr. & Robert Barton "Bobby" Barks, her son Jeptha Blacksher "Jay" White-Spunner, Jr. & infant grandson, Jeptha Blacksher White-Spunner, III. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Blacksher White-Spunner, her son John White-Spunner, Sr. (Margaret), her daughter Peggy Ann White-Spunner and daughter in-law Judith Harrison White-Spunner; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly White-Spunner Gross (Thomas, Jr.), John White-Spunner, Jr., Katherine Elizabeth White-Spunner, Whitney Marie White-Spunner and Jeptha Blacksher "JB" White-Spunner, IV and 3 great-grandchildren, Charles Thomas Gross III, Ann Katherine Gross and Anna Gray White-Spunner. She graduated from MurphyHigh School in 1946, was a past member of the Junior League of Mobile and was involved in numerous charitable organizations throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed art, tennis and most especially the 'sewing group'. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she served on the vestry and as a Stephen's minister. The White-Spunner family would like to offer a very special acknowledgement to all of the wonderful people who provided medical, home health, hospice and the in-home care team from Simplicity Sitter Services, most especially Debbie Sigler, all of whom provided for her needs. The family is grateful for all the prayers and support during this time. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until 12 Noon on Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Parish Hall. A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
