“Fred” Sprinkle, 81. Fred was a lifelong resident of Dauphin Island, Alabama. He was
born on August 14th, 1943, to Ralph and Georgia (Schmutz) Sprinkle, who preceded
him in death. Fred is also preceded in death by his brother, Billy G. Sprinkle Sr., and his
sister Rita Marlene Pierce.
Fred was previously married to DeAnna K. Ingram, and
together, they had one daughter.
In his early life, Fred traveled around the United States building golf courses for Maddox
Construction. Returning home to Dauphin Island, Fred opened his own business,
Sprinkle Clearing and Grading, where he worked every day until his last.
Fred is survived by his daughter Lisa Ann (David) Lairmore, three grandchildren Jon
Robertson, Katlyn (Lewis) Bexley, and James Steger, and two great-granddaughters
Drew Kate and Halle Bexley. Fred’s daughter, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters
were the light of his life. Fred is also survived by a special nephew, Billy (Whitney)
Sprinkle, as well as several other nieces, nephews and his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws who all loved him dearly.
Fred was a member of the Mobile County Sheriff Department and was a diehard
Alabama fan, never missing a game at his best friend Preston (Connie) Mallon’s home
with Preston’s children.
Services are being held at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama. Visitation will be
held from 5-8 pm on Friday, May 2. Additional visitation will take place from 10-11 am
Saturday, May 3. Funeral services will begin at 11 am at Radney Funeral Home with a
graveside service to follow at Dauphin Island Cemetery #2.
