

Ramona Mae "Dit" Blackwell Plash, age 90, died at her home on May 29, 2019. She was a native of Foley, AL, and the last surviving child of seven siblings. She graduated from Foley High School in 1946, and married in August of the same year. She moved to Mobile in 1948.
She was affectionately known as "Mama Dit" not only by her grandchildren, but by all who knew her. Mama Dit was an avid prayer warrior; most never knew of her many prayers for them. She was employed as a substitute teacher at Fulton Road Baptist School, the Registrar at Central Baptist School, and a long-time receptionist at Cottage Hill Baptist Church. Mama Dit was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, James M. Plash (Daddy Jim).
She is survived by her four sons: Duane (Carolyn), Drew (Rosanne), Paige (Carolyn), and Rhett (Patty). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Brittany (Andrew) Davis, Heidi Plash, Lundy (Curran) Foose, Hanson (Kimberly) Plash, Bevin (Zach) Normandin, Walker Plash, Brianne (Mitch) Pate, Madison (Brice) Petersen, Meredith Plash, Emma Plash, and Samuel Plash, nine great grandchildren, as well as Dean Corley, her dear friend of 70 years.
Funeral service at Radney's on Dauphin St. 11 :30 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019. The family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 until time of service. Interment 3 p.m. - Pine Rest Cemetery, US Hwy 98, Foley, AL.
