Mr. Ray Douglas Carter, Sr. – a native of Lakewood, FL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL died Friday, August 31, 2012 in a local hospital. Mr. Carter was a U. S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II and was an electrical contractor for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Helen Roussos Carter; three children, James Carter, Doug (Lisa) Carter, and Anita (David) Glockner; six grandchildren, James Hyatt, Lauren Creel, Trey Carter, Kate Lanier Carter, Monica Asher, and Amanda Glockner; and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. The family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until 10 A.M. on Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church or the Penelope House. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
