Richard Barr Fobes

Mr. Richard Barr Fobes, age 71, of Mobile, AL, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Stella Fobes and brother Tony Fobes. Mr. Fobes served his country honorably for 20 years as a member of the Alabama Army National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 76 for many years. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Mr. Fobes is survived by his wife of thirty seven years, Charlotte Bowman Fobes, children; Richard Barr Fobes, Jr., Donna Jean Weir, Jennifer Vaughan (Corey) and Jeffery Fobes. He also leaves to cherish his memory five grandchildren, Kelly, Tiffany, Elise, Kannon and Aiden; sister, Peggy Kelly (Don); his cat "Happy" and many other family members and friends. He will always be greatly loved and missed. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Mobile, Al.
