

Richard Carroll Jenks, 66, passed away on Friday, March 1st, 2013 at his residence in Mobile, AL. He was born on January 16, 1947 in Morristown, TN to James Carroll Jenks and Nancy Crocker Jenks. Richard grew up in Knoxville, TN. He graduated from East High School in Knoxville, TN in 1965. After high school he attended The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. Richard went on to work with John Deere where he began his long career working as a General Parts Manager. He most recently worked for Cummins Mid-South, L.L.C. as a Parts Manager where he worked for the past 5 years, sharing many laughs with peers and co-workers all along the way. Richard married Bonnie Calcutt in 1985 in New Orleans, LA, and they just shared their 28th wedding anniversary on January 19th. They truly were soul-mates, known to all that knew them as best friends. They shared everything, including many years of laughter, jokes, and pranks. Richard was an avid University of Tennessee football fan, with his fall Saturdays devoted to the Vols. He thoroughly enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cards and computer games. Richard’s friends were considered family, and throughout his life he was known for making them laugh. Richard is survived by his spouse Bonnie Calcutt of Mobile, AL; his daughter and son-in-law Robin Jenks Warnick and John Charles (J.C.) Warnick II of Atlanta, GA; his step-daughter Jill Renfro and husband Bob Renfro of Knoxville, TN; his sister Carole Witt and husband Doug Witt of Knoxville, TN; his grandaughter Jensen Cate Warnick and step-grandson Austin Douglas; his niece Christy (Bob) Sutton and their children Whitney, Seth, and Alisha; his nephew Dave (Donna) Moore and their children Dylan and Dawson. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Nancy Crocker Jenks and James Carroll Jenks. Visitation will be held at Bridge’s Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924 at 1:00 on Saturday, March 9th, 2013. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
