Mr. Richard “Dick” Meyers, age 92, native of Mobile, Al and longtime resident of Lillian, AL, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Mr. Meyers served his country honorably in the United States Navy at the rank of Quartermaster during World War II. He was honored to be selected for the Honor Flight IV. Dick was a tugboat and towboat captain and owner/operator for many years. He was loved by many and respected by all. Dick is survived by his wife Betty, sister, Louise Rasmussen and his children, Pat Meyers (Rosemary), Rob Meyers. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Angela Meyers, Steven Meyers (Aenon), Deborah Steward (James), Trent Meyers (Kim) and Christina Meyers (Kevin), eight great- and four great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service time of 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
