Rita LaGrave Adams, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emilio Edward and Eunice Marie Young LaGrave, grandson, Mitchell Ammons and brother, Horacio Edward LaGrave.
Mrs. Adams began working with Bell South Telephone Company immediately following high school. She retired after 30 years of service. She was in the Telephone Pioneers as "Clara Bell" the clown. Rita never met a stranger, loved being around her family and friends especially children and just enjoyed having fun. She enjoyed traveling with her husband especially their trip to Alaska and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley.
Rita is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, William J. Adams and daughters; Miriam Adams Parker (Tony) and Melissa Adams Ammons. She is also survived by her sisters, Lyndia L. Yakubec, Dorothea L. Henderson, grandchildren, Brian D. Ammons and Brandi Parker.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
