Robert Gordon Boone

Robert (Bob) Gordon Boone Sr. born January 31, 1931, a native and life-long resident of Mobile, AL died March 14, 2015 after an illness of many months. Bob was an agent for Liberty National Insurance Company for many years and later was the owner and President of Moffat Road Auto Sales in Crichton. He was a member of Moffat Road Baptist Church for many years and was a founding member of West Mobile Baptist Church and for the past few years a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Samford Boone and Dovie Elzora Huff, his brothers, William Earl Boone, Charles Raymond Boone and sisters, Bessie Lucille Downing and Flossie Elzora Davis. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma Summersell Boone, daughters, Deborah Morrow, Janet Franklin (Butch), son, Robert Gordon Boone Jr. (Karen), grandchildren, Natalie Franklin Dodson, Matthew R. Franklin, Shannon Boone Jackson, Ashleigh Boone Andrews, Jordan T. Boone and 8 great grandchildren all of Mobile and other relatives. Visitation will be held from Pine Crest Funeral Home, Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. with funeral services to follow from the Funeral Home Chapel. Active pallbearers will be Matthew Franklin, Skipper Boone, Mike McLeod, Ronald Patronas, John Summersell and Butch Franklin. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr, Reeves Dill, Dr. Chad Alfred and Mr. Charles Carwile.
