Robert Glenn Lane

Mr. Robert Glenn Lane, age 83, of Citronelle, AL, passed away at his home on Friday, January 17, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Y.D. and Minnie Brown Lane; wife, Judith A. Lane, daughter; Marcia Lane, and three brothers. Mr. Lane served his community as Deputy Fire Chief with the City of Mobile Fire Department. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard retiring as Sergant Major of B Company 1/20th Special Forces Group and was involved in the Korean Conflict. He was also a Colonel with the Alabama State Defense Force . He was a member of the Honor Guard with the American Legion, Post 164. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Gilbert; grandchildren, Nicholas Gilbert (Khristina), Rachael Autrey (Brent) and Michael Sapser. He also leaves to cherish is his memory his siblings, Alton Lane (Mary Ellen), Patricia Vickers, Linda Hollinghead and two great-grandchildren, Brooke Gilbert and Joslyn Autrey. Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
