Robert Sydnor Phillips, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Mobile, Alabama on Monday, October 31, 2022. Bob was born to Robert Sydnor Phillips, Sr. and Banag’o LaBlizz Phillips on November 23, 1940 in Mobile. He was a six-year United States Air Force Veteran. Bob retired from Mobile County after almost 25 years of service as a fire medic. He was sweet, kind, and had a great sense of humor – everybody loved him. Bob was also a very enthusiastic foodie. He loved the Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed seeing them win the World Series last year.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Bloom Phillips; parents; and one daughter, Cathy Arial.
He is survived by his children, Jason (Cindy) Phillips, Barry Phillips, Lisa (Mike) Jones, Bo (Jo Ann) Riley, Robert (Susan) Riley, and Scott (Deana) Riley; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother and his wife, Richard and Debbie Phillips; sister, Murray Benson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
