Roger Eugene Sofge

Roger Eugene Sofge, 88 born May 10, 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in Mobile, Alabama. He was married to his beloved wife, Barbara, for over four decades.

Roger was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Sofge Dean and grandson Nick Sofge.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Mike and wife Leslie, Mark, Monica, Roger and his wife Victoria, and Hunter, as well as his grandchildren Rachael Dean (Noel) Mount, Ricky Dean , Mandy Dean (Phil) Arceneaux, Michael (Christine) Stoecker, Holly Sofge (Brian) McCubbin, Amber Sofge Fowler, Marcie Sofge (Matthew) Sayers, Cole Sofge, Paige Sofge, and Brock Walker. Roger was also blessed with great-grandchildren Mason Arceneaux, Madeline Arceneaux, Donnie Brady, Sawyer Brady, Payton Barrett, Remi Sayers, Walt Stroecker, Junior Fowler, Jaycee Fowler, Brooke McCubbin, and Caylin McCubbin.

Roger served in the United States Air Force in the late 1950s and early 1960s, a time he looked back on with pride. He was brought to Mobile as the first General Manager of Montgomery Ward, a role he learned much and made many friends from, meeting his wife Barbara through an employee and friend Stan Story. Outside of work, he was an avid fisherman and had a true green thumb, tending to his plants with care and skill. He was also a beautiful artist who loved to paint, finding joy and peace in creating. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service for Roger will be held at Radney Funeral Home - Mobile on Saturday March 29th 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
