

Mr. Roy B. Hodge, Sr., age 72, a native of Brewton, Alabama and a lifelong resident of Mobile passed away at home on Sunday, September 9th, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Hodge was predeceased by his parents, Sanford D. (Lima) Hodge and Thelma (Henry) Fuller, father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Hale, his sister, Burnell Clark and brother, Ray Hodge. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Harriet “Faye” Hodge, son, Roy B. Hodge, Jr., daughter, Linda M. Hodge and grandchildren, Justin and Ashley; sisters, Betty Flowers and Margaret Cofield and brothers, Cecil (Chris) and Robert Hodge, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Tommy Menton, Pete Palughi, Harriet Ladas and his canine buddy Sam. Mr. Hodge was an avid Auburn Football and NASCAR racing fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was known for his quick wit and ability to find humor in almost any situation. Mr. Hodge retired in 2001 from the appliance repair business having worked his entire life in that field and was co-owner of Hodge Brothers Appliance with his brother Ray. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial donation in his name be made to the SouthBARK Animal Rescue Organization, P.O. Box 194, Loxley, AL 36551.
