Ruby Morgan Walker

Mrs. Ruby Dee Morgan Walker left this earthly life and joined family and friends in Heaven on Sunday, February 18, 2018. A life-long resident of Mobile, She was 90 years old. Mrs. Walker was employed at Merchants Bank and various law firms in Mobile in her early career. She was a member of Christ Fellowship. Mrs. Walker was an accomplished Bible teacher and an avid painter. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Pearl Morgan, as well as her siblings. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Benton Walker, her son Jonathan Jay Walker, her daughter, Hilda Jane Walker Herring, and her grandson, James Herring. God gave Harold and Ruby six children and twelve grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was married to Harold for 54 years. Their children Judith Walker Steele (Eugene), M. Stephen Walker (Nancy), Hilda Jane Walker Herring (Perry), Jonayhan Jay Walker (Susan), Phillip T. Walker (Mary), and Bobby Ray Walker (Elizabeth). Her grandchildren are Renee Steele Reaves (Roger), Michael E. Steele (Chasity), Devin Walker (Christine), Deanna Walker Seaman (Evan), Charles Dale Herring (Mai), James Herring, Melissa Walker Anderson, Brad Walker, Brooke Walker Maniec (Mike), Jason Walker (Jason), Lauren Walker Sullivan (Jason), and Jodie Walker. Her great-grandchildren are Morgan and Garrett Reaves, Grace Michael Steele, Dylan and Mary Katherine Walker, Hunter Herring, Emma, Kaylee, and Brody Anderson, Stella and Brady Sullivan. All of her family lauds “Nanny” as a perfect example of what a Godly mother and grandmother should be. She freely gave everyone love and loyalty. We will all miss her terribly, but we know she is no longer suffering and now enjoying a perfect place where there is no pain or Suffering.

Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2018 at Christ Fellowship Church from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Christ Fellowship Church. Mrs. Walker will be laid to rest at Mauvalla Cemetery.
