Ruth A. Wood

Ruth Ann Wood peacefully passed away after a long battle with dementia July 24th, 2018 at Azalea Gardens in Mobile, AL. She was born on December 31, 1944 in Jackson, MS to Earnest and Ora Pearson. She graduated from Provine High School in 1962.

Ruth was a lover of the arts, music, dance and theater and was gifted in all of them. She was always trying encourage and teach others. She would pour out her soul into everything she did and that is what made her so special. When she loved she loved with her whole heart. As her loved ones preceded her in death it chipped away at her and she would never be the same. Her Father in 1946, her first born, Johnny, in 1969, her oldest sister, Louise, in 1997, Mother in 2008 and most recent, Dot, middle sister July 4, 2018. There will be a renewing of her soul as they are all reuniting in heaven.

Ruth is survived by her daughter April (Wood) Henderson, son-in-law Ric and grandchildren Amanda (24) and Eric (21). Her niece, Judy O"Neill (Philip) and nephew Joseph who are the children of Louise. Niece Julie and nephew Steven (Stacy) who are children on Dot. A memorial service honoring Ruth's life will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 from Dauphin Island Baptist Church, Dauphin Island, Alabama at 4:00 P.M.
