Sammie R. Morris, Sr.passed away peacefully on October 29 in Mobile, AL. Mr. Morris was a member of the Church of Christ. He was born in Texas, but lived most of his life on the Alabama and Mississippi Gulf Coast. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and completed a 20 year career in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1961 and began a Civil Service career at Brookley Field. He completed his Civil Service career at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS and returned to live in Mobile in 2008, after the death of his wife of 64 years. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Morris; his mother, Sammie Cox Morris; and his wife, Marguerite Fassbender Morris. He is survived by his only son Sammie R. Morris Jr. (Kitty Litton), two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11:30 until 12:30 on Thursday November 2, at Radney Funeral Home, with interment to follow immediately at Mobile National Cemetery.Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, Mobile, AL.
