Sarah Wilkins Baker, a beloved lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 87. Sarah was the kindest person one could ever hope to meet, touching the lives of countless family members, friends, and community members with her warmth, compassion, and quiet grace.
Born on January 24, 1939, in Mobile, Sarah grew up in the city she cherished and called home her entire life. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1957. Professionally, Sarah enjoyed a fulfilling career at Roberts Brothers Realty.
A devout Christian, Sarah's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church and St. Matthews Episcopal Church for most of her years.
Sarah's greatest joy was her family, particularly her two cherished children, Dana Luann Baker Adams and David Lee Baker, who meant the world to her. Tragically, both preceded her in death, a loss she bore with remarkable strength and grace. She was also predeceased by her brother, Rev. Aaron Ellis Wilkins, Jr., and is survived by her sister, Linda Wilkins Anderson.
Sarah leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the light she brought into the world.
A funeral service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. There will be no visitation or graveside service.
