Sharon Scroggs Coggin peacefully left this earth and entered blessed eternity on December 30, 2022 in Mobile, Alabama. She was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, August 10, 1939, to Adam and Olivette Haab. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Elwood Glenn Haab, Milton Joseph Haab, sister Yvonne Haab Horn and husbands William A. Scroggs, Sr. and Joseph Coggin.
She is survived by nieces Leslie Horn Langley (Gene), Wendy Horn Cawthorn (Robert), nephews, Michael Horn (Angela), Kirby Horn (Belinda); sons Col. William Andrew Scroggs, Jr. (Kim), LTC Stephen Scroggs (Patricia), Kurt Coggin (Judi); daughters Karol Farlow, Linda Cantrell (Jim), special friends Joyful Dunn, Jayne Hodgkins, Maxine Smith; 11 grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was a faithful member of Ashland Place United Methodist church, a true believer in the love of Christ and a powerful prayer warrior. She loved her church family.
She lived on the Gulf Coast all of her life and salt water ran through her veins. She had a deep love of the Gulf and fishing was her passion. Heaven forbid that a reel would go off and you stood in her way.
She was a charter member of the Mardi Gras Order of LaShe’s, was the third Queen of the organization and the first queen to ride in the LaShe’s inaugural parade. She was devoted to her LaShe sisters.
She was a successful Mobile business woman and owned Multi-Services Telecommunications Group conducting business nationwide.
She was devoted to her family and was never happier than when surrounded by them. She loved to travel, have fun, take side trips to casinos, and especially loved to be the center of attention. She was a force to be reckoned with and was deeply loved for it. She lived a big, beautiful life and will be forever missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held two hours preceding the service. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com
