

Shirley Golden Hochman 03/30/1935-03/02/2025 loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away on March 2, 2025, surrounded by her family at home after a courageous battle with Dementia.
Shirley was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 30, 1935 to Joseph and Gertrude Golden, graduated from Odessa High School and attended the University of Texas. She moved to Mobile, Alabama after marrying her Husband Howard. They were set up by friends. Howard and Shirley raised their three children in Mobile. She moved to Houston, Texas after our family sold their manufacturing business. Shirley loved Traveling, Boating, Dolphin watching in the bay, exercising, enjoying her Crimson Tide and the Texans play football. She was an avid Canasta and Bridge player. Shirley’s greatest joy was spending time with her husband Howard, Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren as well as her beloved dog “Molly Dolly”.
She is survived by her loving Husband of 68 years, Howard Hochman, her Children , Gail van Oosten ( Peter) Judy Gorchow ( Janice) Jeffrey Hochman ( Hemda), Sister, Velva Levine, her Grandchildren Lindsay LaCour ( Joseph) Allen Kahn ( Brittany), Jennifer Galperin ( Evan), Joseph Gorchow ( Christian), Jay Gorchow, Yali Hochman, Paul van Oosten ( Gwen), Els van Oosten ( Thijs), Great Grandchildren , Walker Kaul, Francis LaCour , Harper Kahn, Wells Kahn, Norah Galperin, Ava Galperin, Aliyah Gorchow and Naomi Gorchow , Isabelle van Oosten, Rosalie van Oosten, Fedde van der veen – van Oosten , Cato van der veen – van Oosten and nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at the Springhill Avenue Temple Cemetery on Sunday , March 9, 2025 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers , donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Shriners Hospital or charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
