Dear Julie and Family
I was sorry to hear about the death of Steve. Living in Birmingham,I didn't know he had passed away until a friend told me last week March 10, 2012. Jim Harrison knew him at Troy St.
    I had run Track and Cross Country against Steve in High School and ran with him one year at Faulkner State Jr. College. In the Summer of 1977, Steve, my Brother and I trained for Track in the high altitude in Dillon Colorado where we all got jobs renovating a hotel in nearby Breckinridge. After that summer I went on to Alabama and Steve to Troy and through the years I lost track of him. 
    I then heard the sad belated news last week and the tragic circumstances of his death. He always had a smile and always tried to help others.

We came to know Steve through my sister, Gail Vrazel.  Steve had a huge heart and a great dedication to his friends.  May he rest forever in the loving arms of our Savior Jesus.

Our hearts are broken. Steve was such a big part of St. Vincent's. He touched many hearts, we loved him and will never forget him. Our Prayers go out for his family. PEACE

I am so sorry to read about Stephen death.  I first met him at Providence School of Nursing.  He always had a smile on his face and kept us laughing.  He always had a kind word for everyone, especially his patients.  My heart and prayers go to you, Mrs Demouy, along with the rest of the family.  Be strong, ad know when you are in pain or suffering Our Lord is always near to give you His strength.

My Prayers and Thoughts for your family, Steve and I worked together at the Movie Theatre, and he love the Shop(Robert Moore ans Co). I hope he can rest in peace now

So sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Stephen when I first moved to Mobile and was in nursing school. He was a fun loving guy. Julie, I will keep the family in my prayers.

I posted this Wednesday night on Facebook, but wanted to share it with family and friends that don't go there....
In the past 36 hours, since I heard that you have gone to Heaven, I have been flooded with memories. The most vivid are from the early 1970s...before then, it was mostly treehouse clubs (BWB), hiking into the woods to taunt Mr. Coley's ranch hands, your bout with hepatitis (that we swore was from taking a dare to drink water out of the fishpond), you running down around the Jordan's fence rotating your arm like a propeller because you thought it made you run faster, baseball in your backyard under the spotlights hoping we wouldn't have to chase a fly ball into the woods and come face-to-face with a black panther, riding bikes all over Jackson Heights, catching minnows and scooters in the creek...on the boat with your family and our infamous sail out from the Eastern Shore to the channel of Mobile Bay where we capsized and had to be rescued by furious -- and relieved -- fathers. The races around Mrs. Duke's driveway while we waited for the bus to come up Packingham. Watching Gilligan's Island at your house with your Grandpa and chasing the ice cream truck. Ha! Did I say the most vivid memories were from the '70s?
Later we were in CYO together...went to DHS....and had a blast with Cherry in the neighborhood riding mini-bikes...you had a Honda, she had a Yamaha. We spent summer days at her Grandparents' house, swimming and playing tennis. We played thrower over at the vacant motel on Hwy 90 and taunted ostriches chasing us as we rode in the back of the Jeep driven by Cherry's brother, Vaughan. You could imitate a peacock cry like no one else on the planet, and loved letting loose with it when unsuspecting passersby were in earshot (my favorite was at the Government St house back by the pool behind the wall...with people passing on the sidewalk....oh, how we laughed at their reactions...we were way ahead of Funniest Videos). 
Dauphin Island...more good times than I can recall (although I do have pictures)...with Cherry, Lisa, Mary and with CYO friends. 
I went off to Auburn. Cherry got married. But we still came together on holidays...for the series of Drinkard porch shots. Had hoped we would get everyone in town at the same time for another. Later we would see each other at Mom and Daddy's house over holidays. You would come with Sweet Tea and QT...Katie loved it. I remember your visit to Kennesaw with Ashton. Fun time...trip to Stone Mountain for the laser show. And you couldn't believe the ear-splitting sound of the cicadas that year. 
I haven't seen you in a long time. Mainly because our visits to Mobile have been fairly short and there has been little time to make contact. I wish I had made time, but I take comfort knowing you are in the angel choir now. And if I take a moment to be still, every now and then I will hear a peacock from on high.

It is with the deepest sorrow I feel from Steve's passing. Aunt Julie, I have Steve as well as you and the DeMouy family in my prayers! With all my heart and prayers!

I know we haven't seen each other much, in the past 2 years, but I will miss you so much. You were always cheerful, and I don't ever remember a bad word from you. All the good memories, at Christmas time and over the bay. All the family will miss you. I believe you are in heaven now with the rest of the family. Mary & George Law

I always remember Stevie teasing me by calling me "GERTRUDE" when we were growing up.  I used to argue with him when I was little and he would just laugh and say 'Ok, Gertrude." Even as an adult, when we saw eachother at FFF balls, he would smile ad address me as "Gertrude." Stevie always made me smile and had a sweet and sensitive soul. God bless him in heaven.
