A native of Atmore, Alabama, and longtime resident of Mobile, Eulyn (Lynn) Kearley Wood passed away in Marietta, Georgia, on December 9, 2017. She was 94. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Leon Kearley and Annie Higdon Kearley, her husband of 63 years, Morris Boykin Wood, her brothers, H. Julian Kearley and Robert A. Kearley, and her sister, Alva K. Quarles. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Wood Day of Marietta, Georgia, and Nancy Wood of Atlanta, Georgia, grandsons, Christopher A. Day of Woodstock, Georgia, and Sean A. Day (Jennifer) of Powder Springs, Georgia, and great-grandchildren, Kylie and Liam Day of Powder Springs, Georgia. She is also survived by her sister, Alice B. Stacey of Atmore, Alabama, and several beloved nieces and nephews. Always the quintessential Southern lady, she devoted her life to her family, her friends and her church, Dauphin Way United Methodist. She joined Dauphin Way in 1949 and supported their many programs throughout her life. As a young woman, she helped in the nursery and with vacation bible school, and as she got older began delivering Meals on Wheels. Her compassionate nature was also seen in the kindness she showed to her large circle of friends. While family came first, she always made time to read and work crossword puzzles and particularly enjoyed playing bridge. Before her marriage, she spent eight years working at the Corps of Engineers, and then helped her new husband start his accounting firm. Once her daughters were older, she became the office manager for Berg & Diehl Real Estate Company, where she worked for 17 years. After her husband died and her health began to decline, she moved to the Atlanta area in 2014 to be near her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Ollie Samuel for her devotion, loving care and friendship over the last several years. In addition, they would like to thank the entire staff at Elmcroft at Milford Chase Assisted Living and the staff at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Georgia, for their gentle and kind care during her last days. A service celebrating her life will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens (6100 Three Notch Road) on Saturday, December 16th at 12 noon with a reception for friends and family at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church (1507 Dauphin Street) at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dauphin Way United Methodist Church's St. Stephen's Ministry or Meals on Wheels programs, or the charity of your choice. Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, Mobile, AL.
