Vernon Vernard Williams “Buck”, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2024 in Mobile, Alabama. Buck was born to Vernon Z. Williams and Minnie Lucille Williams on August 14, 1934 in Mobile. He retired as a longshoreman. Buck was a longtime member of Westwood Baptist Church on Snow Road in Mobile. He loved to golf, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. When Buck was younger, he enjoyed coaching sports, fishing, and hunting.
Buck was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Williams; parents; son, Gregory Williams; and a brother, Levon Williams.
He is survived by his son, Marc Williams; grandson, Kyle Williams; sister, Dottie Brooks; brother, Teddy Williams; as well as nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Buck will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Westwood Baptist Church, located at 1101 Snow Road South, Mobile, Alabama 36695, with a funeral service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West.
