

William Burns “Bill” Cosby- an 89 year-old resident of State Line, MS and a former longtime resident of Mobile passed away in Leakesville, MS on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. An electrician by trade, Mr. Cosby retired from Scott Paper Co./Kimberly Clark in 1988 after many years of service and was a member of the IBEW Local 505. Affectionately known as “Pop,” he enjoyed welding, hunting and spending time in his shop. He was also an excellent cook and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Mr. Cosby was preceded in death by his wife, Rae Bush Cosby; daughters, Margaret Ann Martin and Beverly Ruth Martin; and granddaughter, Allison Ann Overstreet. He is survived by his daughter, Kay Cosby Lee (Mitchell); grandchildren, Matt Lee (Heather), Lindsey Lee Herr (Dustin), Bart Hamil (Debby), Steve Hamil (Susan), Don Overtstreet, Beverly Overstreet Zalewski (Dave), and Eric Overstreet; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the First Baptist Church of State Line, 250 Saint Peter St., State Line, MS 39362.
