William Earl Jones Sr., 79, of Mobile, AL, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018. Bill was born to John and Ellie Jones on January 3, 1939. A long-time resident of Mobile, he graduated Murphy High School in 1958. Bill then went on to attend and graduate from the University of Alabama with a degree in Fine Arts. He was a member of a mystic society here in Mobile. Bill was the owner and operator of Sun Graphics until his retirement.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, William Earl Jones, Jr.; parents, John Talbert Jones, Sr. and Ellie Mae Brannon Jones; brothers, John Talbert Jones, Jr. and Edward Francis Jones; and one sister, Ellen Doris Cramblitt.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gholson Jones; daughter, Anne Hayne; son, Vincent Talbert Jones; brother, David L. (Mary) Jones; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other cherished family members.
Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, with a chapel service immediately following – both at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Camp Smile 3058 Dauphin Square Conn, Mobile, AL 36607, a camp that celebrates special needs children.
