Willie Kay McBride

Kay W. McBride, a longtime resident of Mobile, passed away at a local nursing facility on Tuesday, September 27, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester L. McBride, parents, Doc and Mary Alice Whittle and sister, Ruby Lee Woodland. She was a member of Life Church and formerly of Wilmer Baptist Church. She carried a special place in her heart for widows and often held Widow Bible Study in her home. She will be remembered as a loving and wonderful mother and grandmother. Mrs. McBride is survived by her children; L. Wayne McBride (Kathy), Terry D. McBride (Rebecca) and Cheryl McBride Sims (Gary); grandchildren; Jennifer, Lauren, Joshua, Zachary, Katie and Kelsey. She is also survived by three great grandchildren; Eli, Ava Lee and Kennedy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 900 Western America Drive, Mobile, AL 36609.
