

Darwin Bacchiocchi, age 83, loving husband of Rena Francoletti Bacchiocchi of Southbury (formerly of Monroe) passed away on November 26, 2010. He was known to all as a kind and gentle man. He was a self-employed builder, well-known and respected in the community. He retired from Fairfield Hills Hospital as the supervisor of the Carpentry Department. His life-time hobbies were gardening and photography, the latter earned him many awards from his local photography club. Other favorite pastimes were fishing with friends and cooking. In addition to his devoted wife of 61 years, he is survived by daughter Dareen Nicholls and husband Mark, son Brian Bacchiocchi and wife Barbara Hofrenning, and daughter Lynda DeNardo and husband John; his grandchildren: Sherri Healy, Ariana DeNardo, Julia DeNardo, Eana Bacchiocchi, and Jana Bacchiocchi, and great-grandson Daryn Healy. He was predeceased by his loving son Ron Bacchiocchi. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 2 pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Prior to services, friends may call from 12 pm to 2 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
