

Dave was born on June 27, 1932 in Jackson Heights, New York to John and Maude (Barker) Gordon. His family moved to Easton in his early teens and he remained there until moving to Monroe in 2008. He graduated from the Newtown Vocational Agriculture High School. Dave was a member of the United States Army during the Korean War stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1954.
Dave was retired from the United illuminating Company where he worked for 40 years. Retiring as a Manager in Vegetation Control. He was also a Licensed Arborist. He was a Member of the National Christmas Tree Growers Association, CT Christmas Tree Growers Association, CT Tree Protective Association and Utility Arborist Association. He was the owner of Gordons Tree Farm in Easton where he grew Christmas Trees for 55 years selling them for just $4 the first year he opened. Through the years he entered his trees in many competitions winning numerous awards including several Grand Champion Ribbons at The Big E, Durham Fair, and Fryburg fair. He spent countless hours in his fields caring for his trees and never considered it work.
Dave’s motorcycle (which he rode until age 83), square and round dancing, watching NASCAR, ice cream, telling stories, making people laugh, road trips, family, and love of the land is how he filled his time. He also looked forward to his weekly breakfasts at the diner with his UI retirement group.
Dave is survived by his wife Rosalba; his children Lori Gordon, John Gordon, Patti (John) Hawley and two stepchildren Oscar (Ashley) Gomez, and Monica Jimenez; his grandchildren Heather (Tyler) Haversat, Danielle (Bryce) Brown, Stephanie (Steve) Fedorko, David (Marisa) Hawley, Kyra Gomez, Rylan Dion, Oliverth Fiorinni, Daniel Oropeza, and Jazmin Jimenez; greatgrandchildren Amelia and Madelyn Haversat, Jackson, Carter and Josephine Brown, Quinn and Nell Fedorko; sisters-in-law Cheila Kraemer, Bibiana Gonzalez; brother-in-law Juan Entralgo; nieces and nephews Diana Zitnay, Peter Gordon, Sean Gordon, and Monica Kraemer.
In addition to his parents, Dave is pre-deceased by his grandson Jay Paul Gordon, brother John Gordon, stepson Pedro Jiminez, and former wife Lorraine Orlando Gordon.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Spadaccino and Leo P Gallagher & Sons Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make a donation to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, PO Box Glenolden, PA 19036 in memory of David Alexander Gordon.
