Eleanore M Matera

Eleanore M. "Bunnie" (Roscoe) Matera, age 79, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 with her loving family by her side at Bridgeport Hospital. Eleanore was born February 19, 1935 in Bridgeport, CT to Wesley and Eleanor (Potanovich) Roscoe. Eleanore always had a smile on her face and was the sweetest person you could ever meet. She was loved by all. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and homemaker who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed family events and holidays, activities with her church, and going to the casino. Eleanore was truly proud of the accomplishments of her children and granddaughter. She participated in The Rosary Altar Society at St. Stephen Church in Trumbull. She enjoyed traveling, going to the movies, and going out for hot fudge sundaes. She took great joy in visiting with others, sitting under her favorite tree in her backyard, and attending to her garden and flowers. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Patrick J., her children, Greg (Darlene), Laura, Debbie, and her granddaughter Lindsay, who was her pride and joy. She is also survived by her mother, Eleanor, and brothers Wesley (Laura) Roscoe and Gary (Debbie) Roscoe as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Wesley and granddaughter Ashley. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and aides on the 4th floor at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Their care and compassion towards her during her brief stay was greatly appreciated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 12th at 10:00 A.M. at St Stephen Church, 6948 Main Street Trumbull. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, February 11th from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher and Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike Monroe.
