

Elizabeth A. Masso, age 86, of Monroe, known as “Betty” to her friends and family, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012. Raised in Stratford by her late parents, Jim and Grace Schirillo; loving sister to her late brother Nick Schirillo and her late sister Nettie Schirillo; devoted and loving wife to the late Leo J. Masso; wonderful and loving mother to son Gary J. Masso and his wife Pam and to son Thomas L. Masso and his wife Ann; proud and loving grandmother to her four grandchildren: Lauren Orlando and her husband Rob, Chris Masso and his fiancé Andrea, Stephen Masso and Jim Masso; equally proud and loving great grandmother to her three great grandchildren: Logan Orlando, Hayden Orlando and the late Cooper Orlando. Betty lived a full, joyous and active life filled with her many hobbies and activities including: cooking, gardening, puzzles, card games, travel with friends, volunteering at the local high school and playtime with her great grandchildren. Betty loved sharing her life with people, most especially with friends and family. She rejoiced in the love, friendship and companionship of everyone she came to know, her life enriched by the many people whose life she touched, and who in turn touched her life. Calling hours will be held from 2-6PM on Sunday, September 30 at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, Monroe, with a service also held at Spadaccino’s from 5:30-6PM during those calling hours on Sunday. A private burial service will be held by the family on Monday, October 1.
