

Emma J. Kettles Bell, 93, of Zephyrhills, FL, wife of the late Charles T. Bell, died Thursday October 31st in Zephyrhills. Born in Stratford on September 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late James and Frances Geary Kettles and had been a long time area resident. Emma was a graduate of Stratford High School class of 1938. She married, Charles T. Bell on October 22, 1938, Charles passed in December of 1997 after sixty years of marriage. Emma and Charles moved to Monroe in 1971 where she became very involved in Monroe’s Senior Citizens. Prior to her retirement, Emma worked in the purchasing department at Moore tools for twenty years. Emma was very involved with St. Peter Episcopal Church in Monroe, knitting prayer shawls and helping with the church fairs. In 2010 she moved to Zephyrhills to be near her son Ronald. Before she moved to Florida, she celebrated her 90th birthday with relatives and friends. In Florida she lived in an independent living center, having her own apartment. She became involved with many activities and events and made many new friends. In addition to her son Ronald C. Bell and his wife Joyce, she is survived by her son; Charles T Bell and his wife Gail, two grandchildren; Kevin and Kathy, three step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren and seven step great great grandchildren. Emma was pre deceased by four sister; Mildred Bruder, Betty Robertson, Doris Clark and Marge Killen and two brothers; James Kettles and John Kettles. Funeral Services will be held Friday November 8th at 11:00 AM in the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home 315 Monroe Turnpike Monroe. Interment will follow in Monroe Center Cemetery Old Tannery Road Monroe. Friends may visit Thursday November 7th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
