Born in Ragusa, Sicily, Italy, Francesca was the daughter of Alessandro and Francesca Vero, wife of the late Carmelo Criscione. An accomplished seamstress, specializing in bridal gowns from her early teens, Francesca worked as a dressmaker until her retirement and always made her own dresses and enjoyed making clothes for her family.
She had a tradition and passion for crocheting blankets for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed plants, flowers, and making her own bread, and cookies. She had a bright sense of humor and enjoyed laughter.
Francesca was a master of great traditional Italian cooking, successfully passed down to family generations, and continued to crochet and needlepoint. She also enjoyed listening to music and watching movie classics.
Her devotion to her friends and family was unparalleled and she was a friend to all. During her twilight years, she was a well-loved member of her assisted living community. Francesca lived a full life devoted to love.
Francesca is survived by daughter Emanuela (Paul), son John (Sharon), granddaughter Marisa (Zack), grandson Christopher (Julie), grandson Brian (Adrianna), great grandchildren Ella, Quinn and Thomas. She is predeceased by her loving husband Carmelo, and dear grandson Alexander.
