MIRABELLI, Frank J., age 86, of Monroe, died peacefully on February 4, 2010 at St. Joseph's Manor in Trumbull, CT. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sarah (Sally) Mirabelli and his four children Martha George, (Frank) John and Joseph, who live locally, and Andrew Mirabelli and his wife, Elizabeth of California. Frank was born in Pelham, New York, moving to Monroe in 1966. He is a graduate of Pelham Memorial High School and of Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. He had a successful career in chemical sales. Frank was a proud veteran, having served in the Army Signal Corp in the Pacific during World War II. He was also a semi-professional baseball player in his younger years, and his love of baseball continued throughout his life. In his later years, he was a member of Newtown Country Club and golf was a favorite pastime. In addition to his immediate family, Frank is also survived by his sister in Eastchester, NY, Frances Elia, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (Santisario) and Joseph Mirabelli, as well as his sister, Mary DeCarlo and brother, Joseph.
Frank's wish was that his remains be scattered at his beloved Jones Beach in Long Island, New York, where there is an abundance of fond memories of the many "caravans" made there with extended family and friends. There will be no calling hours or service. A memorial service may be held locally in the future.
